Sequins: Sunrise and Sunset

Yesterday, Monsieur and I watched the sunrise from the top of one of the highest points in all of Maui, near the summit of Haleakala. It was beautiful.

And then Monsieur and I watched sunset from one of the lowest points on the island, a beach near where we’re staying.

Needless to say, it was a long (but beautiful) day. And I’m tired.

Sequins: Maid of Honor Round One

Wow guys.¬† So I guess I didn’t expect to fall off the face of the blogging earth, but I guess that’s what happens when your sister gets married in Maui and you’re the Maid of Honor. Lots has been going down. Yesterday, though, was The Day and everything went off mostly without a hitch–unless, of course, you’re me. If you’re me, you’ll find yourself with hives covering your entire body from an allergic reaction to the sunscreen, a dress with a zipper that breaks and you have to be literally sewn into, and a couple other crises that I can’t remember. I was laughing with my dad about it at the ceremony. It was like all the bad luck that brides fear was flying at my sister, and I managed to jump in front of her every time. I’ll share more pictures later and go into more details later, but for now I’ll just say two things–I’m exhausted beyond belief, and the happy couple is definitely worth the effort.

These were our Getting Ready outfits. Hers was white, as is appropriate.

Technically, I gimp’d this photo, but it was to make my camera more accurately reflect what we were looking at during the beginning of the reception. And yes, the happy newlyweds were on the beach with their photographer during the sunset.

Sequins: Travelwear

You’re reading this on the last day before Monsieur & I fly out to Hawaii for our vacation, so I’m just a touch busy. Although, if you couldn’t get enough of Stripes’ vacation posts, then don’t fret–I’ll be adding my own to the mix soon enough. Don’t you fret. For now, though, you can feast your eyes of my last travel outfit! This was for a train trip, so less intense than my current trip, but still.

Gray tights and denim shorts was the very first styling that led me to my tights-with-shorts obsession. You guys don’t see it too much on the blog what with me recording almost entirely my work outfits, but trust me–it exists. Also, I know at least one person seeing this post is squealing with an “ohemgee she got it!”, so yeah, Stripes, I totally found one!

Backstory–Stripes sent me a text a long time ago letting me know there was a a super cute seafoam green jacket at the place she found her hot pink blazer. I went to scope it out and they were already out of stock. I went back recently, though, when my sister dragged me to the mall and couldn’t resist. It’s mine now!

Blazer: Charlotte Russe, Shirt: H&M, Tights: very old, Sandals: Saltwaters, Shorts: Target, Flower: downtown boutique

Do you guys have any fashion trends that you stick to like comfort blankets? Because that’s what tights and shorts are for me. This happy trend has been going strong for four years in my life, and I don’t see it letting up anytime soon!

Stripes: A Peek Into Our Past

As a part of my “becoming an adult” I’ve been obsessively organizing everything I own (a side effect of moving and trying to find stability in chaos…also, extreme Type-A personality). One thing that had been driving me NUTS for the last six or so months was one-the number of albums I had accumulated on Facebook and two-the utter lack of organization in my photo file on my computer. All this combined with my OCD tendencies led to the perfect storm of hours upon hours spent obsessively putting the last 5 years worth of photos in chronological order. It also resulted in the rediscovery of some early Moose in Chartreuse gems that were the precursor to the blog.

Without further adieu, here are some of our original Moose pictures from a wonderful weekend spent with our neighbors to the north.

And there you have our travel outfit pictures, the original hipster faces, and our going out on the town looks. Anyone else feeling especially¬†nostalgic¬†lately? What about OCD? I’m just glad I’ve been able to channel mine into [mostly] productive activities.
