This year will forever be remembered as the years Harry Potter took over my wardrobe. After my jaunt in Wizarding World, I’ve been rocking the crap out of my Gryffindor House sweater- I wear it to work, I wear it while shopping, and yesterday, I even wore it to the spa (it was cold out…so cold we even had our first snow! How wintertime in Hogsmead of us!). I’m kind of addicted to this sweater.
Yesterday, I met up with a friend for lunch (it’s amazing how much time I have for friends when I’m not doing both school and work! I’ve seen more friends in the last week than I had in the last three months) and we exchanged some pretty epic gifts. Imagine how thrilled I was when I opened this little gem?!
Yeah, I was beyond excited to be holding my very own golden snitch necklace! (Shout out to my friend Ashley who handcrafted him for me!) You bet you’re going to see him pop up on the blog from time to time. I can’t wait to figure out how I can make him be a work appropriate accessory. She also got me the fanciest snuggie out there…check the poms on this guy!
Impromptu photoshoot while blogging! Yay! Spontaneity!
Sweater:Wizarding World of Harry Potter//Shirt:Ross// Scarf:Found//Jeans:Gap//Snuggie:Pier 1
Yay! Goofy Face Picture!!!
And so it has begun. Pretty soon you’ll be seeing me rock a robe and tie like it’s no big deal, I’ll be working my time-turner like it’s my third year at Hogwarts, and I’ll have a magic bag where I keep all my possessions stashed away…or maybe not. Guess you’ll just have to keep an eye on the blog to see just how far bad my Harry addiction gets. But be sure of one thing, I’ll be wearing my snuggie as the coolest blanket cape ever for the next six months straight.
Happy Sunday folks!

None of us are orphans, really, but somehow the name stuck. This is the third year that Kim, Kels and I have gotten together for Christmas tree decorating and fun holiday festivities. We also throw gifts into the mix, and this was mine to them. I printed them each a print to remember the tradition with.
It’s been a while since we’ve talked. I know things are crazy busy in your world, and I’m sad that I haven’t been more available with all the hectic uncertainties in mine keeping me preoccupied. That is a poor excuse. To make up for it, I have a series of pictures I took of my sister’s cat discovering balloons when we set up for a recent birthday party.
One of my favorite things about you is how entertained you are by the Little Things in life. It’s one of the reasons I thought you’d like this particular series of photos.
Despite the stressful curveballs life might be lobbying in your direction, I do know you have some pretty darn exciting things as well going on, and I’m totes excited to hear more about them. In fact, I’m hoping that as the quarter nears an ending, maybe I can talk you into visiting Seattle over the weekend. We could meet up on campus and catch up over coffee, then you and I can hop into a library for some studying time. I don’t think I’ve told you in-person about my novel, but I think a quiet study environment would be very welcome focus point for me. Selfish, I know, but still true. Let me know if you’re interested.
Oh and this is kind of a side note, but I recently stumbled across this blog and the name alone, Looks Good From The Back, always makes me chuckle. Like, I can imagine you saying it as I walk out of a dressing room wearing some bold thing that you can’t stomach and I think is awesome amazingness dripping with unicorn drool. Also, being them seems cute. Their friendship is adorable.
That last photo is my favorite from the series. I hope you enjoyed them, but even if you didn’t, it’s okay. They were a ton of fun to take, since getting snarked on by kitties is somehow one of my secret favorite hobbies.
Take it easy,
PS I made you an equivalent signature and uploaded it to the library if you like it. I mean sure, I could email you this information, but somehow this is more fun.
As promised in my last post, Marci and I had quite the little meetup/coffee date/photo shoot in Seattle this last weekend and boy did I miss her (and her fancy pants camera). We had fun, sipping coffee, catching up, and being slightly vain while posing on a bunch of rocks.
It’s strange how different life feels being removed from our little college town. I really miss having meet ups like this with friends, bumping into people I know all the time, and spontaneity in general. I realize that I spent a huge portion of college yearning for some semblance of routine but now that my life is all routine I miss the fluidity, flexibility, and occasional chaotic moments.
Despite how much I miss my old lifestyle, however, I have found some serious benefits to this new big girl era-benefits that make me remember how awesome growing up is. For example, being able to go on trips whenever I want (ok, on weekends or with my VACATION TIME…oh heck yes I can get paid to have fun). Or getting to buy cute new clothes on a whim (and shoes…eh, eh! Check these babies out…just got them at Target for $30-Uhhhhmazing). And for finally being able to plan for some big life changes that I think will bring full-on happiness to every corner of my life.
But at the end of the day, I feel especially glad that I can always have a coffee date with and old friend, catch up, and take photos just like we’re back in our old, college town ways soaking up the nostalgia. Although most parts of me are moving, fast-forward, toward the future, there will always be some bits and pieces craving and appreciating these moments of old school bliss and, for that, I’m glad for days like this.

Oh yes I am because I just so happened to be Marci’s date to this event. And if there’s one thing we’ve learned in the last year, it’s that when the two of us are together epic amounts of pictures are taken. Some very silly pictures are taken.
Some unintentionally serious ones are taken.
Dress:Gap (thrifted)//Sweater:Romy//Shoes:Lucky Brand//Clutch:Old Navy
And some blogingly perfect ones are taken.
Yes, when we get together we take lots of pictures. And this is why I miss us getting together as much as we used to be able to but it’s always nice to take a little time travel trip down memory lane and look at all the good times we’ve had. It’s also nice to know we’ll meet up again, take even more ridiculous slightly vain pictures of ourselves, catch up like we’ve been apart for two days not two weeks, and enjoy some good coffee (spoiler alert, there may be a post just about this in the works). That’s the beauty of good friends, everything can change but when you’re reunited it’s all the same again.
A day has come that I never
ever, ever, ever thought would come: I have mastered the art of styling bangs.
Oh yes, I finally consistently pump out bangs that look like this in the morning. 9 year old me, with the goofy bangs going all directions, is so freaking proud. This was a long time coming, The first month or so of bangage was filled with weird gaps and flyaways. Luckily, after a bunch of experimentation, I’ve mastered the blow drying to hairspray quotient.
There are the bangs at the end of my work day. Seeeeeeee?! I think I’ve finally conquered the cowlicks.

I also thought you all might be proud of my accessorizing! I picked up this rose bracelet this last weekend at H&M and I think it’s my new favorite thing ever. I seriously want to wear this every single day ever but, alas, I’ve got to try rocking some other accessories too. I can’t be a one trick pony, now can I?
