All Good Things

“…must come to an end,” Marci wrote with a nostalgic sigh. Kels interrupted her reverie. “I’m writing this too, you know. Just in bold.”

Over a year and a half ago, when Kels turned the ripe old age of 22, we went out for her birthday. We went with some of her guy friends and I brought my camera. We’d been going a bit crazy together on Pinterest and were stalking different fashion blogs. As a joke, we made the guys take our pictures of us doing those classic, horrible, overdone fashion blog poses. Here’s a quick summary of those never-before-seen photos….

What started as an inside joke turned into an actual, real, non-ironic (mostly) blog. It was a ton of fun for us to plan our weekday lunch get togethers, walk  around our small town, explore the back alleys and their colorful walls, and just have a fun hobby of an excuse for us to hang out on a regular basis. Whatever plans we had for when we moved apart have quickly been rewritten by real life, though. It turns out, being a young 20-something in the real world is kind of exhausting and a tiny bit boring (when it comes to fashion anyways).

Kelse & Marci HeartWe got together today with our boys, and with another couple who’s staying with us (Marci & David) to go ice skating. We had a ball and it was a ton of fun to get together. I was super stoked on getting to dress up in color and show off my sparkly tights (which promptly ripped when I tried to tug them up). We had a whole fun post about it planned but what actually came out of our mouths was a lot more blunt and very different.

“I think the Moose has run its course, don’t you?”

Don’t get us wrong–we’ll always love dressing up and taking photos of each other, because we’ve been morphed into that kind of awesome narcissist. I know I’ll always be grateful that I learned how to tie a skinny belt, and I’m glad I’ve learned to mix patterns, styles, and colors. But it’s time to accept that we’re in a different season, one where fashion blogging doesn’t fit into either of our lives. We’ll probably also always love taking ridiculous, mocking photos of fashion bloggers, because why not?

We just won’t be posting them on the internet for the whole world to see. Unless I put a peek up on my other blog, which will continue to be manned, LikeASmallFireBut when it comes to fashion blogging? The daily grind of designing amazing outfits and sharing them with the world? Yeah…its run it’s course. As sad as we are, we’ve realized that working full time jobs as young 20 somethings with various other things going on in our lives does not leave us enough time to do Moose justice.

Kels & Marci Goodbye

Like Marci said, you can still read about her adventures on her personal blog, and I’ve long been toying with the idea of a food allergy/adventure/lifestyle blog when I have time to write again (aka after I’m done with my paralegal certificate). I’ll be sure to post here and on Marci’s blog when/if I’m able to get my project off the ground.

And with that, we say good-bye. It is time to embrace the new season, accept life as it is not how we thought it would be, and move forward with exciting new projects, trials, and adventures. We wish you the best and thank you so much for reading Moose!
