Hello New Glasses

Marci 11-19-12 new glasses

Okay so they’re not new, exactly. In fact, I’ve had them exactly as long as I’ve hold my other super hipster pair. However this photograph shows off the second time I’ve ever worn them in public. So, hello new glasses. I don’t have a whole lot to say about this outfit except it’s buit of pieces I absolutely love.

That neon tank is the most unremixable thing in my wardrobe but I’ll be damned if I don’t sleep in it a lot just to have an excuse to wear it. Similar thing with the tshirt, since I don’t wear them out a whole lot. The pants, well, I’m forcing myself to wear them because I love them even if I’m always in them for work, and those polka dot shoes are thing I refuse to throw away despite their matching holes. My sister says that hat makes me look like Link and I’m honestly not sure if she meant that as a reason for or against me wearing it, but it just makes me want to wear it more. Especially if I skipped a shower. If you’re curious about the hand on mouth thing, I’ll refer you to this post. If you’re curious about the wacky handwriting, I’ll refer you to the fact that I am amazing at using my laptop touch pad in Gimp to handwrite text. I plan on doing it more and more, so prepare yourselves.

PS Writing a blog post after midnight = rambling Marci. What up. Blame Kimmy-bean for keeping me up past my bedtime.

Nighttime Blogging

Alright guys, today you’re getting a little insight into my mid-week, crazy, sleep-deprived brain. I’ve come to realize something very big-it’s amazingly difficult to take pictures of yourself at the end of a long day. Maybe I’m just lacking in mad skillz, but this is what I’ve got for you:I really love this outfit, though, which made this evening’s photoshoot all the more bittersweet. I am in love with this purple scarf, I adore these work pants, and sweaters are probably the best thing ever. But, unfortunately, these pictures do not do them (nor my hair) much justice. Tanks:Target//Sweater:TJ Maxx//Scarf:Fred Meyers//Pants:Express

Which is why sometimes you just have to roll with the punches, rock your new favorite scarf, and take some ridiculous pictures… like this last one…

…which completely sums up how I feel roughly 14% of the time. Happy Thursday everyone (it’s almost Friday!!!)!

Faux Food Baby

This was my post-Thanksgiving outfit and I know I’ve got an epic faux food baby going on in it.

Sweater: Kohls | Top: Thrifted | Tank & Jeans: Target | Bag: H&M | Boots: Mi Shoes

It’s a faux food baby because it’s really just how I’m standing. And I’m only standing that way to keep my mouth tucked in my scarf. Also, it’s not actually that cold out in these photos. I have my scarf over my face because I’ve got a cold sore and I don’t care how much body acceptance I’m supposed to have–that is just not a photo I want on the internet. So you guys get these somewhat goofy photos instead.

On a side note, though, I love how crazy wild and mess my hair is in these photos. It’s growing out kind of crazy and I’m trying to trim it the best I can. Right now it’s in a weird faux-Kate Gosselin the early years phase. Which I did. It’s really similar to how I had it in high school.

Also, and entirely separate side note, these are the last photos with my favorite, beloved hipster glasses. They were tragically destroyed in a really frustrating accident that makes me grumpy just thinking about it. We’re talking full-on annihilation. >.< So long, hipster frames, and hello new pair that I’ve had as back up but hated for along time and now like a lot.

A Working Routine

Guys, here’s the thing. I’m so bored with my work wardrobe. So bored.

This was my attempt at indoor lighting. My mom donated a Sun Light to the Keep Marci From Going Insane project and it’s great on those gray days that plague this area of the country. Also, it’s really good for natural lit photos. Except I’m still working on that effort. I’ll figure something out.

Also, this is a corner of my art studio. I’m still not done decorating things, but I’ll probably get a tour ready for it when the time is right. It’s kind of exciting having a second bedroom that I can do what I want with. We have a spare bed in there as well, which means we let friends crash when they come over. It’s exciting.

Dress: Sojourner | Sweater: Kohls | Tights: Target | Boots: Clarks

And for those curious, the really awesome rug under my feet is actually a King+ size bedspread I found at Goodwill for like $5. It’s amazingly perfect, although sometimes I stare at it and am in awe at the size of the bed it must have covered. It’s enormous. Definitely a bed for epic orgies.

The Post That Has Been A Long Time Coming

I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while…kind of. I had my reservations: I like to keep a (admittedly small) bit of my life private, I wanted to keep this part of me safe-almost harbored inside of me, and I know things change fast in life and I wasn’t sure I could handle the heart break of this changing and me having to tell you. But I’m here today to tell you, with much anxiety and anticiaption (from a small collection for friends *cough cough Marci*) that I have a boyfriend.

Say hi to Matt (previously known as Mr. New York).

(This is us in New York this last summer with the sunsetting behind us over New Jersey)

Matt has been lurking around, behind the scenes of Moose like my personal Quasimodo for a while. Though thinly hidden, he has been here for months making many of my posts possible. So, folks, here’s what you haven’t been seeing…

You all saw this scarf on this post but what I didn’t mention is that Matt brought it to me from all the way over from Thailand.

This picture was taken after this picture…

This picture:

Was taken just before this picture:

And this last weekend’s pictures from Leavenworth,

Did not include these pictures:

I realize this is not the most profound nor life changing news I could be throwing your way (unless you have my face tattooed on your chest and you’ve been secretly trying to seduce me for years in which case, I’m sorry, but it might be time to go get a new hobby) but it’s still a little nerve wracking. Regardless, it was time to let you all in on my little secret (not to mention make it way easier to talk about all the exciting plans we’ve made for Christmas and New Years).

Here’s to many more adventures, great times, and lots of kisses!

PS- Seeeee Matt? I know you’re reading this…our relationship is officially blog official.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Moose

For all our American readers, we extend a Happy Thanksgiving with full bellies and maybe even a touch of political awareness and sensitivy. We are grateful to you all for reading us. We’re grateful for the comments that let us know we aren’t just talking to ourselves, and for all the interactions we get to have with you guys. Mostly, though, we’re grateful for family. Families that we might not share blood with but that still invite us for Thanksgiving. For all the people, blood-related and not, who open their arms and hearts wide for us regardless of the holiday. We love you all very much!

Expect Slow Posting

Kels and I live squarely in the land of free and home of the brave, with bald eagles flying above us daily also included. So we’re taking it slow this weekend as we unplug and eat lots of food. Or, in my case, drive lots of hours to our state’s nearest southern neighbor. In the meantime, though, I want to show you some fun new stuff I added to the blog–buttons!

Moose In Chartreuse
<div align="center"><a href="https://mooseinchartreuse.wordpress.com" title="Moose In Chartreuse"><img

I’m still working on adding different sizes and variety, but for now you can feel free to share us on your own blog, if you’re so inclined. We have a new page on the top of the blog Grab A Button and you can check there for the whole shebang. We’re not nearly coordinated enough to have any kind of sponsorship program yet, and we’re not even sure if we’re going to take it in that direction. One of these days we’ll get together with fancy hats and clipboards to draft an official marketing plan for the Moose, but until then, enjoy! Take! Share if you like!
